These yellow battery powered skip lights are fitted with an amber lens suitable for use on waste skips when being left on the public highway. There are now stricter regulations regarding leaving skips on the public highway. To ensure you do not get a fine you should ensure that the skip has the following;
- Reflective Markings
- Traffic Cones
- Night Time Safety Lamps
- The name and telephone of the hire company.
In addition to this, you should be sure to check if you need to apply for a license for the skip from your local council. You can apply for a skip permit here: failure to do so could lead to a £1000 fine!
Our skip lights are suitable for the “nighttime lighting” requirement and will ensure that you avoid a fine (assuming that you also cover the rest of the points above).
Please Note: These lights feature a light sensitive switch which only allows the light to activate in low lighting conditions.
These lamps easily clamp onto the lifting hook on the skip and are “anti-tamper”. They light up automatically once the sun goes down, and can be set to flash, or stay on continuously whilst it is dark.
The Lamp is powered by two AA batteries that are readily available from almost anywhere even from our website!
